Grant Description

The U.S. Embassy is seeking program proposals between 12-24 months to foster a culture of entrepreneurship in Pakistan and to connect U.S. and Pakistani entrepreneurs. Entrepreneurship can create jobs, boost incomes, spur innovation, and expand economic opportunity. Proposals would provide training and mentoring to current and potential entrepreneurs, share and institutionalize lessons learned from successful entrepreneurs, and highlight and connect successful U.S. and Pakistani entrepreneurs. Programs Goals: 1. Foster Entrepreneurship and Innovation: Create programs committed to promoting entrepreneurship and innovation, with an emphasis on scalable, high-growth potential startup ventures, which help contribute to job creation and economic growth in Pakistan. 2. Increase People-to-People Ties Between the United States and Pakistan: Proposals should develop stronger ties between the people of the United States and Pakistan, through shared information, experiences, exchanges, and expertise. 3. Strengthen Local Capacity: Proposals should help organizations pilot programs; expand and replicate entrepreneurial activities and programs that will catalyze the growth of successful businesses, industries, and communities; enhance intellectual property rights; encourage academic and business sector reforms; and increase trade and knowledge of how to access both local and international markets.
