Grant Description
Purpose. This funding opportunity announcement (FOA) issued by the National Center for Research Resources (NCRR) solicits new applications on the pathobiology of emerging and potential pathogens of laboratory animals including, but not limited to aquatic species, rodents, and nonhuman primates. Mechanism of Support. This FOA will utilize the NIH Research Project Grant (R01) mechanism and run in parallel with a FOA of identical scientific scope, RFA-RR-10-004, that encourages applications under the R21 award mechanism. Funds Available and Anticipated Number of Awards. Funding for 2011 is anticipated to be up to $ 2.5M in direct costs to support up to five R01 awards.
