Grant Description
Purpose. The National Center for Research Resources (NCRR) of the NIH invites applications for COBRE infrastructure support grants.The objectives of this FOA are to continue support of infrastructure at Centers of Biomedical Research Excellence (COBRE) that have received 10 years of funding from NCRR. This FOA is supported through the Institutional Development Award (IDeA) Program at the National Center for Research Resources (NCRR) of NIH. Mechanism of Support. This FOA will utilize the NIH center core grant mechanism (P30). Funds Available and Anticipated Number of Awards. The NCRR intends to commit approximately $14 million in fiscal year (FY) 2010 to support this program. Budget and Project Period.An applicant may request a project period of five years and may request direct costs up to, but no more than, $750,000 per year.Although the financial plans of the NCRR provide support for this program, awards pursuant to this funding opportunity are contingent upon the availability of funds and the receipt of a sufficient number of meritorious applications. Eligible Institutions/Organizations. Institutions/organizations listed in Section III, 1.A. are eligible to apply. Eligible Project Directors/Principal Investigators (PDs/PIs). Individuals with the skills, knowledge, and resources necessary to carry out the proposed research are invited to work with their institution/organization to develop an application for support. Individuals from underrepresented racial and ethnic groups as well as individuals with disabilities are always encouraged to apply for NIH support. Number of Applications. Institutions may submit only one application in response to this FOA. Resubmission. Resubmission applications are not permitted in response to this FOA. Renewals. Renewal applications are not permitted in response to this FOA.
