Grant Description
-Purpose.This funding opportunity announcement (FOA), issued by the National Center for Research Resources (NCRR), solicits innovative applications for the development of new or improved instrumentation for biomedical research. Projects should propose tools that can be used by a wide range of biomedical or clinical researchers, and not limited to a specific organ or disease. -Mechanism of Support. This FOA will utilize the NIH Exploratory/Developmental Grant (R21) grant mechanism. -Funds Available and Anticipated Number of Awards. NCRR intends to commit approximately $1 million to this program to award five to eight new grants in FY2010. Awards issued under this FOA are contingent upon the availability of funds and the submission of a sufficient number of meritorious applications.
