Grant Description

Purpose. The NCMHD Research Infrastructure in Minority Institutions (RIMI) is a P20 funding opportunity issued by the National Center on Minority Health and Health Disparities, National Institutes of Health, solicits grant applications from minority-serving institutions that propose to build, improve, strengthen and/or enhance the research infrastructure and research training capacity of minority-serving institutions.These RIMI grant applications must have a plan that is designed to establish a research capacity-building infrastructure program, with benchmarks, for training students and developing a cadre of clinical, biomedical and behavioral research scientists who possess the skills, knowledge and abilities to engage in leading edge research and innovative research training that ultimately will contribute to reducing and eliminating health disparities in the United States. Mechanism of Support. This FOA will utilize the P20 grant mechanism. Funds Available and Anticipated Number of Awards. The total amount to be awarded under this funding opportunity is approximately $4 million (total costs) per year for an estimated four to five new and renewal applications.
