Grant Description
Purpose. This FOA solicits Phase II applications for the Quantum Program at the National Institute of Biomedical Imaging and Bioengineering. The goal is to achieve a profound (quantum) impact on the prevention, diagnosis, or treatment of a major disease or national public health problem through the development and implementation of biomedical technologies. Mechanism of Support. This FOA will utilize the U01 Research Project Cooperative Agreement grant mechanism. Funds Available and Anticipated Number of Awards. NIBIB anticipates commitment of up to $8,000,000 in FY2010 for this program, and that one to three awards will be made. Awards issued under this FOA are contingent upon the availability of funds and the receipt of a sufficient number of meritorious applications.
