Grant Description
This Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) invites one Research Project Cooperative Agreement application (UC4) from the Program Director/Principal Investigator of the Data Coordinating Center (DCC) that is currently managing this large, complex and effective network to: 1) Screen relatives of persons with type 1 diabetes; 2) Follow those found to be at-risk to better understand the pathophysiology associated with progression to disease, and 3) Conduct trials aimed at diabetes prevention in at-risk individuals and -cell preservation in those newly-diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. The DCC will: 1) Support transfer of TrialNet samples and data to the NIDDK repositories for storage and dispensation, and 2) Provide continued support for TrialNet activities upon completion of the TrialNet DCC contract.
