Grant Description
Purpose. This Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) is issued by the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK) and the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, National Institutes of Health.This limited competition FOA solicits cooperative agreement (U01) applications from institutions/organizations that are currently supported under RFA-DK-04-004 and RFA-DK-04-005 within the Clinical Islet Transplantation (CIT) Consortium that propose to complete the currently designed CIT human islet transplantation protocols and associated mechanistic studies. Mechanism of Support. This FOA will utilize the NIH Cooperative Agreement (U01) grant mechanism. Funds Available and Anticipated Number of Awards. The total amount of funding anticipated is 30 million dollars over three years; the anticipated number of awards is up to ten.
