Grant Description

Purpose. This FOA issued by The National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK) invites grant applications for Centers of Excellence in Molecular Hematology (CEMH). The Centers of Excellence in Molecular Hematology are part of an integrated program of hematologic diseases-related research support provided by the NIDDK. The Centers currently funded in this program have provided a focus for increasing collaboration and improving the cost-effectiveness of supported research among groups of successful investigators at institutions with an established, comprehensive hematologic diseases research base. An open competition is invited, in order to renew and strengthen this program. Mechanism of Support. This FOA will utilize the P30 award mechanism. Funds Available and Anticipated Number of Awards. The total amount of funding that the NIDDK expects to award through this announcement is $4,600,000 in fiscal year 2010 for an anticipated 4 awards.
