Grant Description
Purpose. This Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) issued by the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK), National Institutes of Health, is to solicit cooperative agreement (U01) applications from qualified investigators to continue the Adult to Adult Living Donor Liver Transplantation Cohort Study (A2ALL).Applications are encouraged from any eligible institution/organization and are not restricted to the current participating centers.This Network will consist of up to nine clinical sites and a single data coordinating center and is intended to support research in living donor liver transplantation (LDLT) so as to facilitate understanding of the short and long-term effects of transplantation on the donor and recipient and gain insight into liver regeneration and other biological processes through study of this unique procedure. Mechanism of Support. This FOA will utilize the NIH Cooperative Agreement (U01)grant mechanism. Funds Available and Anticipated Number of Awards. The total amount of funding that the NIDDK expects to award through this announcement is $3.5 million; the anticipated number of awards will be up to nine transplant centers (TC) and one data coordinating center (DCC).
