Grant Description

Purpose. This program fosters research related to biomedical and clinical science, epidemiology, prevention, and treatment of HIV/AIDS associated with drug use. The FOA seeks to foster international research collaborations with a regional geographic focus that take advantage of populations, resources, talent, or environmental/contextual conditions outside the U.S. that offer special opportunities to advance scientific knowledge. Mechanism of Support. This FOA will utilize the R01 grant mechanism. Funds Available and Anticipated Number of Awards. NIDA intends to commit up to a total of $2.0 million in FY 2010 to support approximately 8 meritorious projects that are responsive to this FOA. Budget and Project Period. The total project period for an application submitted in response to this funding opportunity may not exceed five years. Direct costs are limited to $350K per year
