The current projects are evaluating the impact of policies and changes in environmental contexts on changes in violence in communities. The projects involve utilizing administrative data sets to examine the relationship between community-level and policy-level conditions and youth violence. In the peer review process, reviewers commented that all three of the studies would be strengthened by incorporating additional data to strengthen the planned analyses. Additional data would provide a more nuanced picture of 1) mechanisms of change between policy and environmental conditions and youth violence: and 2) different forms and a broader spectrum of youth violence behavior.
