Grant Description
The Bureau of Reclamation, Mid-Pacific Region, intends to award a cooperative agreement to Grassland Water District, on the following program: Programmatic Approach To Meet Salinity Water Quality Objectives At Vernalis On The Lower San Joaquin River. The purpose of the project will assist the recipient in accomplishing its public purpose by implementation of best management practices and the timing of discharges to the LSJR though a RTMP. This project will improve water quality, conserve water by reducing reliance on dilution flows from New Melones Reservoir, and improve avian and salmon habitats within the LSJR watershed. As a public benefit the project will address salinity discharges from Grassland Resource Conservation District wetlands to the LSJR watershed that includes implementation of mitigation actions for areas of high salt accumulation such as wetlands and agriculture discharges. This notice of intent is NOT a request for competitive proposals. Questions concerning this NOI should be directed to Christina Muпoz by e-mail at cmunoz@usbr.gov.
