Grant Description
The objectives of this project are to repair or replace existing primary and secondary water supply lines and other plumbing associated with the Hoover Dam Pupfish Refuge water supply, as required to insure continued safe operation. Also for the replacement of refuge enclosure and tank shade materials and secondary fish holding tanks to insure proper continued operation of the facility and to perform other site conservation elements to the HDR facility as necessary to insure proper efficient use of the facility and to insure the safety of staff using the facility for pupfish population maintenance and research. The Nevada Department of Wildlife (NDOW) staff will replace existing water supply lines, intake screens, and related support structures and plumbing. Existing protective materials for the refuge tank and tank enclosure will be restored or renovated as needed. Circular tanks used to provide isolation or supplemental capacity for fish rearing will be replaced. Shelving may be installed within the facility enclosure to improve facility organization and efficiency and to facilitate research and population maintenance work tasks. General site restoration will be performed to improve facility access. Work efforts will be conducted in cooperation with Bureau of Reclamation and Fish and Wildlife Service staff.
