Grant Description
The focus of this project is to develop and use the Peach Springs water source as a secondary source of water for the Tribal community of Peach Springs, Arizona. The current water supply from the Truxton Wells is often not sufficient to meet the demands in Peach Springs and, at times, has to be shut down due to water quality and other maintenance issues. A back up source is sorely needed to maintain water service to the community. This Project entails upgrading the submersible pump, replacing the damaged water pipeline from the source to the community, and installing a 10,000 gallon water storage tank. The water would also provide for fire suppression, dust abatement and water for cattle and wildlife. This water is important, not only in times of shortage, but also during normal conditions to relieve demands on the current water system.
