Grant Description
The Bureau of Reclamation, Mid-Pacific Region, intends to award a grant agreement to the San Joaquin River Parkway and Conservation Trust, Inc. on the following program: San Joaquin River Restoration Program (SJRRP) Invasive Vegetation Monitoring and Management. This project would implement invasive vegetation monitoring and management activities, consistent with the Invasive Species Monitoring and Management Plan for the Water Year 2010 and Water Year 2011 Interim Flows Projects. The objectives are: (1) Address high unemployment in valley communities by creating jobs for San Joaquin Valley residents and youth; (2) Increase awareness among valley residents and communities; (3) Use approved existing weed monitoring protocols and supplement the existing reporting protocols to extend the usefulness of weed monitoring data beyond the SJRRP╔к_s area of interest, for the benefit of the entire San Joaquin River watershed; and (4) Build a coordinated riparian weed management implementation framework for use in future years and with future programs in the San Joaquin Valley. Refer to the Notice of Intent to Award announcement, R11AS20017, for additional information.
