Grant Description

The Bureau of Reclamation (Reclamation) intends to issue a cooperative agreement (CESU # 3FC810873) to University of California, Davis, under the authority of catalog for domestic assistance (CFDA) 15.512, Central Valley Project Improvement Act, Public Law 102-575, Section 3406(b)(10). Estimated award date: March 30, 2010. Estimated amount: $1,930,480.00. Reclamation proposes to provide financial assistance for the Sacramento River Green Sturgeon Migration and Population Assessment. Recent concern about a decline in the abundance of green sturgeon has mandated multiple evaluations under the federal Endangered Species Act (16 U.S.C. 35 ¤1531 et seq.). These assessments culminated in the listing of the Southern green sturgeon Distinct Population Segment as a threatened species on June 6, 2006. (Refer to Notice of Intent to Award announcement no. R10AS20007 for additional information.) A Determination by the Government not to compete this proposed financial assistance based upon Departmental Manual 505 DM 2, paragraph 2.14(B)(2) & (4) is solely within the discretion of the Government.
