Grant Description
The over-arching goal of this NIMH R25 program is to support educational activities that complement and/or enhance the training of a workforce to meet the nations biomedical, behavioral and clinical research needs. To this end, this funding opportunity announcement encourages the development of creative educational activities with a primary focus on Courses for Skills Development. Proposed short courses are expected to facilitate the development of a sophisticated cadre of investigators with the requisite scientific research skills to advance the mission of the NIMH, namely to transform the understanding and treatment of mental illnesses through research. Each short course is expected to include both didactics and hands-on research experiences. Participants are limited to graduate/medical students, medical residents, postdoctoral scholars, and/or early-career faculty.
