Grant Description
This FOA invites applications for ancillary studies that use subjects enrolled in (or screened for participation in) the Type 1 Diabetes TrialNet clinical trials network, OR for ancillary studies that use subjects enrolled in the Diabetes Control and Complications Trial (DCCT)/Epidemiology of Diabetes Interventions and Complications (EDIC). Studies are expected to generate scientific discoveries on disease mechanisms, disease pathogenic processes, and biomarkers of disease progression or clinical responses, or complications of type 1 diabetes. This FOA is not intended to fund clinical trials with endpoints for clinical efficacy (including but not limited to C-peptide preservation).
