Grant Description
Purpose:The NCIs Diversity Training Branch (DTB) and the Center to Reduce Cancer Health Disparities (CRCHD) announce the availability of the "Mentored Patient-Oriented Research Award to Promote Diversity" for career development of ethnically and racially diverse individuals with a health professional doctoral degree from groups that have been shown to be underrepresented in health-related science. The purpose of the NIH Mentored Patient-Oriented Research Career Development Award (K23) is to support the career development of investigators who have made a commitment to focus their research endeavors on patient-oriented cancer research. The NCI recognizes a unique and compelling need to promote diversity in the patient-oriented research workforce. Mechanism of Support: This Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) will utilize the Mentored Patient-Oriented Research Career Development Award (K23) mechanism. Funds Available and Anticipated Number of Awards: The total amount to be awarded by the NCI and the number of awards will depend upon the quality and merit of applications received and the availability of funds.
