Grant Description
The purpose of this Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) is to outline priority areas for research related to womens mental health during pregnancy and the postpartum period.Priority areas include basic and clinical neuroscience, studies of clinical course, epidemiological factors and risk factors, as well as interventions and services research.The NIMH, NICHD, and NIDA are committed to supporting research that will increase scientific understanding of and treatments for mental disorders experienced by women during and following pregnancy.Reduction of the public health burden of mental disorders during this perinatal period will improve the health and well-being of new mothers, their children and families.
