Grant Description

The Division of AIDS Research (DAR) at the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) issues this Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) to outline priority areas for innovative intervention development research to advance HIV prevention and care. This FOA encourages research designed to (a) conduct tests of the efficacy of novel behavioral and/or integrated behavioral and biomedical interventions, (b) conduct basic behavioral and social science research that is needed to advance the development of innovative interventions, and (c) translate and operationalize the findings from these basic studies to develop interventions and assess their feasibility. This FOA is informed by priority areas from the National HIV/AIDS Strategy, the NIH Office of AIDS Research (OAR) Plan for HIV/AIDS Related Research, as well as the NIMH Strategic Plan http://www.nimh.nih.gov/about/strategic-planning-reports/index.shtml, particularly objectives 1, 2, and 3 as adapted to HIV research.
