Grant Description

Purpose. This purpose of this Funding Opportunity Announcement is to encourage Research Project Small (R03) Grant applications from institutions/ organizations that propose to enhance our understanding of effective positive youth development programs and the mechanisms responsible for positive health and developmental outcomes.ÊThese studies may include the evaluation of particular components of new or existing youth development programs thought to be responsible for positive development; the examination of child and adolescent assets, behaviors, and development that influence positive youth trajectories; and the evaluation of family, community, or social assets and liabilities that contribute to or hamper youth development.ÊInvestigators and/or colleagues should have a strong knowledge of child development.ÊThe R03 grant mechanism supports a variety of projects including pilot and feasibility studies; secondary analysis of existing data; small, self-contained research projects; development of research methodology; and development of new research technology.ÊThe R03 small grant mechanism is intended to support small scale research projects that can be carried out in two years or less with limited resources.
