Grant Description

-Purpose. This funding opportunity announcement (FOA) issued by the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism solicits Research Project (R01) applications for organizations/institutions that propose to conduct secondary analysis of existing data sets.ĂŠNIAAA seeks to enhance the understanding of the patterns of alcohol consumption and the epidemiology of alcohol-related problems. -Mechanism of Support. This FOA will utilize the NIH Research Project (RO1) grant mechanism and runs in parallel with two FOAs of identical scientific scope, PA-08-169, that encourages applications under the R03 award mechanism and PA-08-168 that encourages applications under the R21 award mechanism. -Funds Available and Anticipated Number of Awards. Awards issued under this FOA are contingent upon the availability of funds and the submission of a sufficient number of meritorious applications.
