Grant Description
National Heritage Areas are places where natural, cultural, historic and scenic resources combine to form a cohesive, nationally important landscape arising from human activity shaped by geography. These patterns make National Heritage Areas representative of the national experience through the physical features that remain and the traditions that have evolved in them. These regions are acknowledged by Congress for their capacity to tell nationally important stories about our nation. This 2015 Work Plan will continue to concentrate on the six areas of the Management Plan: 1. Public Relations & Outreach 2. Interpretation & Heritage Tourism 3. Community Interpretation & Revitalization Planning 4. Conserving Community & Traditions 5. Preservation, Conservation & Recreation 6. Financial support (grants) to local non-profit organizations who support the work of the Sangre de Cristo National Heritage Area
