Grant Description

Theme Study on US Era of Reconstruction will analyze and summarize the history of the era, and identify and justify the significance of nationally significant sites, focusing on six themes: Civil Unrest/Violence; Black Institution Building; Enfranchisement/New Democracy; Land and Labor; Federal Power; and Modernizing/Remaking the South.
