Grant Description
Challenge Cost Share program for the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service's (Service) Southwest Region's four states: Arizona, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas. The Southwest Region invites submission of proposals in support of natural resource management, emphasizing invasive species inventory and control, habitat restoration, and conservation outreach. These proposals are accomplished in partnership with a local Service unit such as a National Wildlife Refuge. Successful joint applicants will have at least 50% of project costs covered by non-federal sources. The Challenge Cost Share program is an annual funding source set up on the federal fiscal schedule; however, partnerships can and should be developed through the year as shared projects are identified. Proposals must be developed in partnership and submitted through the local Service partnering unit. For more information, contact Patti Plagge, Region 2 Challenge Cost Share Coordinator, at 505-248-7487 or patti_plagge@fws.gov.
