Grant Description
This announcement is for US Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) San Andres National Wildlife Refuge (SANWR), New Mexico, Region 2, FY 2009. Broad Canyon Ranch is a recent acquisition of the New Mexico State Parks Division. As a result of the new acquisition, this announcement is for conducting restoration planning, development and implementation for this property. Activities for this project may include the following: researching all available information regarding site conditions and restoration planning, participating in stakeholder and public meetings, preparing maps and draft management plans, preparing draft and final ecosystem restoration plans with input from public and private stakeholders, delineating, mapping and controlling invasive exotic weeds with the primary target being tamarisk, re-establishing native vegetation, preparing environmental planning including NEPA and ESA, coordinating with State Historic preservation office for compliance and measuring and monitoring water and groundwater flows and levels. Funding is for in-kind matches, no funds available for distribution.
