Grant Description
Bosque del Apache NWR is a national wildlife refuge located in central New Mexico for the conservation, protection and enhancement of wildlife and their habitats. Migratory winter birds, endangered and sensitive species, and their habitats is a major focus of the Refuge•À_s work. Refuge managers and biologists oversee restoration projects. Priority activities include natural resources public works (infrastructure) improvements, non-native plant species control and removal, and native plant species establishment. Specific projects under the continuation of this cooperative agreement include removal of woody vegetation for the benefit of the New Mexico meadow jumping mouse and infrastructure maintenance
