Grant Description
In order to remain relevant and sustainable in the twenty-first century, the National Park Service must recognize and embrace the diversity of America╔к_s people and embrace the creation of a multicultural workforce. As the stewards of our nation╔к_s natural and cultural treasures, the National Park Service recognizes the importance of diversity in ecosystems and historic sites. Applying the same principles of diversity to the National Park Service╔к_s workforce, park programs, and community engagement will ensure that our nation╔к_s parks welcome and reflect the heritage of all Americans. In order to create a new generation of stewards, the Park Service must find ways to meaningfully connect with a new generation of Americans. Our workforce must reflect the changing face of America, and our educational programs must tell the stories of all Americans. Making ourselves relevant to a changing and diverse population will ensure that the National Park Service thrives and succeeds in its next century of existence.
