Grant Description
This is a Notice of Intent to award a non-competitive Task Agreement under the Gulf Coast, Cooperative Ecosystem Studies Unit (CESU) Master Cooperative Agreement (H500002A271) in accordance with Department of the Interior, 505 Departmental Manual 2.12C. The purpose of this project is to implement a monitoring program for seagrasses at Gulf Islands National Seashore (GUIS). The approach follows the hierarchical strategy for seagrass monitoring outlined by Neckles et al. (2011) to establish the quantitative relationships between physical and biotic parameters that ultimately control seagrass condition, distribution, persistence, and overall health. This work will be share protocols with an identical monitoring conducted by the University of Texas Marine Science Institute at the Upper Laguna Madre, Padre Island National Seashore. Please see attached Full Announcement for more information.
