Grant Description
This action will result in a task agreement award under the National Park Service Gulf Coast Cooperative Ecosystem Studies Unit (CESU). This is a Notice of Intent and a Non-competitive Award IAW DOI 505 DM 2.12C. Please see attached Full Announcement for more information. The purpose of this project is to implement a monitoring program for seagrasses at Padre Island National Seashore (PAIS). The approach follows the hierarchical strategy for seagrass monitoring outlined by Neckles et al. (2011) to establish the quantitative relationships between physical and biotic parameters that ultimately control seagrass condition, distribution, persistence, and overall health. The approach follows a broad template adopted by several federal and state agencies across the country, but which is uniquely designed for Texas (Dunton et al., 2011).
