This is a "Notice of Intent" of a single source task agreement award to the Iowa State University, Ames, IA under the Great Rivers Cooperative Ecosystem Studies Unit (CESU). The PI has paricular technical expertise in the realm of historic road preservation, having completed a variety of cultural lanscape studies and preservation master plans for the National Park Service, other agencies and organization. This technical expertise is needed in order to complete a cultural landscape inventory (CLI) for Rimrock Drive at Colorado National Monument. The PI and her students are familiar with federal standards and guidelines for CLIs, having previously completed other inventories for the Intermountain Region. Additionally, Iowa State University also possesses a GIS lab with technical support required for mapping the road corridor.

Grant Description
The purpose of the agreement is to provide students with an opportunity to become familiar with the NPS approach to documenting and evaluating cultural landscapes, while completing a CLI needed by Colorado National Monument. Completion of the CLI will also assist in the Intermountain Region's CLI performance goad for FY 2012.
