Grant Description
Niagara Falls National Heritage Area Commission invites non-profit groups, academic institutions, and local, regional, state and tribal governments to submit grant applications for War of 1812 Bicentennial events and programs within the boundary of the Niagara Falls National Heritage Area. The purpose of this program is to provide seed money for projects that emphasis the history and impacts of the War of 1812 on the Niagara Frontier. Partnership projects between multiple organizations within the heritage area are encouraged. To carry forward the Heritage Area mission to promote heritage, cultural, and recreational tourism, as well recognizing and interpreting important events and geographic areas within the Heritage Area, as stated in the enabling legislation PL-110-229, the Niagara Falls National Heritage Area is seeking grant proposals directly related to Bicentennial events associated with the War of 1812 and take place within the heritage area. Applicant organizations are strongly encouraged to discuss proposed projects with NPS Liaison Debbie Conway or Niagara Falls National Heritage Area Project Manager Sara Capen prior to preparing an application.
