This announcement is to provide public notice of the National Park Service (NPS)мs intention to fund a Task Agreement against an existing Master Agreement. Funding Announcement: NOIP16AC00613 Project Title:National Park Service- MCC Trail Maintenance 2016 Recipient: Montana Conservation Corps Total Anticipated Award Amount: 57600 Cost Share: None Required Anticipated Length of Agreement Through 10/30/2016 Anticipated Period of Performance: Through 10/30/2016 Award Instrument: Task Agreement Statutory Authority: 54 U.S.C. 101702(a), 16 U.S.C. 17k-2(e), 16 U.S.C. 4601-1(f)(1), 16 U.S.C. 1246(h)(1), 16 U.S.C. 1723(c), 54 U.S.C. 101701(b) CFDA # and Title: 15.931 Youth Conservation Activities Point of Contact: Tina Holland, Agreements Officer OVERVIEW, RECIPIENT AND NPS INVOLVEMENT The Montana Conservation Corps will collaborate with the National Park Service (NPS) for Trail Maintenance 2016. The project will meet the goals of the program - accomplishment of resource projects, inclusion into the community where the work takes place and an educational learning component regarding natural resource protection. Substantial involvement on the part the National Park Service (NPS) is anticipated for the successful completion of the objectives to be funded by this award. NPS staff will assist with MCC desire to build upon the good record established by environmental organizations of developing youths and supporting the NPS's resources in a cost_ effective and efficient manner, especially when they have worked together in partnership with the NPS. NPS did not solicit full and open competition for this award based the following criteria: The cooperator is a member of the established 21st Century Conservation Corp Program- Youth Engagement and Development and was awarded a Cooperative Agreement P16AC00605 allowing Montana Conversation Corps desire to build upon the good record established by environmental organizations of developing youths and supporting the NPS's resources in a cost_ effective and efficient manner, especially when they have worked together in partnership with the NPS. to participate in specific tasks, and can provide the necessary activities involved in this particular task while providing an effective outcome for the National Park Service and the promotion of youth involvement. Three members of the 21st Century Conservation Corp Program were considered for this award and the Montana Conversation Corps was selected based on the Montana Conservation Corps was selected for several reasons. MCC has been partnering in Glacier National Park for more than 19 consecutive years. They have modeled crews and supervisors that match our needs in backcountry trails maintenance and together we have been able to provide youth with a meaningful and educational experience in physical labor as well as resource management and appreciation.
