Grant Description

NASA’s Office of Education, Integration Division, Informal Education Program, in cooperation with NASA’s Office of Communication Planning, four Mission Directorates – Aeronautics Research, Exploration Systems, Science, and Space Operations--solicits proposals led by science museums and planetariums for uniquely NASA informal education and exhibit projects that feature eligible NASA missions, science, engineering, explorations, or technologies. This solicitation seeks projects featuring NASA-themed content in space exploration, aeronautics, space science, Earth science, or microgravity, or a combination of these Congressionally-directed topics to support NASA education outcomes. Leadership of the proposed projects must reside at institutions of informal education; partnership relationships are highly encouraged. Proposals should address substantiated national, regional or local educational needs or challenges and offer solutions with potential for significant impact. Total award sizes will range between $250,000 and $2,000,000, with a period of performance not to exceed five years. Award numbers will depend on how many larger versus smaller awards are selected for funding by the NASA selecting official. The anticipated maximum number of larger awards is two (2) and maximum number of smaller awards is twenty (20). It is anticipated that an approximate total of $6,000,000 will be available to award as grants or cooperative agreements under this solicitation. The CP4SMP NASA Research Announcement is available on the NASA Headquarters solicitations website: http://www.nspires.nasaprs.com.
