Grant Description
This is a directed solicitation that seeks proposals to examine topics relevant to State, local, and/or tribal criminal and juvenile justice policy and practice. Specific focus areas under this solicitation for FY 2011 include: research on police investigations; research on police integrity; the impact of technology on policing; research on policing strategies for smaller police agencies; and research on desistance from gangs and gang-related crime. Applications addressing other areas of research related to crime control and prevention policy and practice also may be considered. However, applicants are strongly encouraged to consider NIJ’s stated priority areas as they are outlined in this solicitation.
