Grant Description

Project Background Information: The Southern Arizona Project (SAP) was initiated in 2003 and provides funding to assist with mitigation and remediation of impacts caused by illegal immigration and smuggling. The ADEQ developed a website where all trash and border related issues could be documented and accessed by the City, State and Federal governments. The public to verify actions and clean-ups from SAP projects can also access this website. The project is to enhance an existing web-based tool system that will assist in furthering the goals of SAP through providing a means of easily assessing, evaluating and plan cleanup of areas impacted by undocumented migrants (UDM). Several enhancements will be required including a drop down menu system or other intuitive approach to keep information consistent and easier data retrieval for reporting purposes. Project Objective: The principle purpose of this partnership is to assist in the implementation of Southern Arizona Project (SAP) to mitigate the impacts to natural and cultural resources on public lands that have been damaged and polluted by illegal immigration and smuggling on the borderlands of southern Arizona. The overall objective of this agreement is to standardize information that is being entered into the existing system by either using drop down menus or some other form of navigation that will standardize the information for final reporting.
