Grant Description
This project will test whether asking climate data users what they do rather than what they need provides better targeted information that is of greater utility. The test is expected to consist of some combination of face-to-face interviews, phone interviews and surveys to both determine the best method for soliciting useful information and to determine how to reach the widest array of potential data users. The initial phase of the project will focus on identifying what types of climate data and climate-related decision support tools are or could be most useful in making decisions about managing vegetation. If the initial trial proves successful, the project could expand to cover other types of decisions, such as grazing decisions, and other types of users, such as ranchers as well as government employees.
