Grant Description
Project Objective: This project will include members of the public who are willing to participate as a volunteer site stewards learning about the importance of historic preservation and become engaged with Arizona's rich cultural heritage. As the stewards learn more about Arizonaкs past, they become preservation advocates in their local communities and schools. This plays an important role in making the public aware of the irreparable damage that can be done to cultural resources by thoughtless acts or deliberate vandalism. Spreading the word that concerned citizens are watching over these resources also can also serve as a deterrent to criminal behavior
