Grant Description
Alaska Department of Fish & Game will work cooperatively with BLM to monitor moose movements and habitat use on BLM lands in Game Management Unit 21E area using Satellite radio collars, since 2010. This telemetry project provides important movement data and precise information on moose wintering and calving areas and summer range, particularly in the area near the villages of Grayling, Anvik, Shagaluk and Holy Cross in the Yukon and Innoko River Bottoms. Moose are an important subsistence species in the region, and the population is managed closely by BLM and ADF&G on Federal lands.
