Grant Description
FY 2013 AVAILABILITY OF FUNDS UNDER A CONTINUING RESOLUTION Funds are not presently available for performance under this financial assistance agreement beyond the date of any continuing resolution. The Government's obligation for performance of this financial assistance agreement beyond that date is contingent upon the availability of appropriated funds from which payment for work performed under this financial assistance agreement can be made. No legal liability on the part of the Government for any payment may arise for performance under this financial assistance agreement beyond that date until funds are made available to the Grants Management Officer for performance and until the Recipient receives notice of availability, to be confirmed in writing by the Grants Management Officer. FUNDING OPPORTUNITY DESCRIPTION A. Project Background Information: The Central Arizona Grassland Conservation Strategy was developed five years ago by an interagency team of representatives from the Arizona Game and Fish Department, the US Forest Service, and the Bureau of Land Management. The teamкs mission was to develop an integrated management strategy for conservation and restoration of grassland ecosystems and associated pronghorn populations in central Arizona. This agreement will supply funds to implement the Arizona Grasslands Conservation Strategy. It is a regional program that works across jurisdictional boundaries to conserve, enhance and restore grassland ecosystems. B. Project Objective: The principle purpose of this project is to work in a partnership with an recipient to implement the Arizona Grasslands Conservation strategy by carrying out projects including, but not limited to: habitat enhancement, habitat maintenance, inventory, monitoring, bio-physical studies, animal re-introductions as well as transplants, public access, cooperative law enforcement, information and education. The objective of this agreement is to conserve, enhance and restore grassland ecosystems in central Arizona to benefit the public.
