Grant Description
This project is for an environmentally sustainable mountain biking flow trail to integrate within the existing Rotarun Trail Network. To accomplish this goal, the flow trail must incorporate design principles to ensure continuity and compatibility as a mountain bike rider goes from one trail to the other. The Rotarun Trail Network offers typical cross-country mountain bike trails that are similar to other trails in the Wood River Valley. However, the developing a mountain bike trail system will provide a diversity of riding experiences for the enjoyment of riders of all skill levels. The last several years as mountain biking continues to evolve there is a unique and innovative idea of offering flow trails. These trails are feature-filled, mountain bike-centric trails. Features along these trails use natural terrain to provide riding excitement and the opportunity for skills development necessary to safely navigate each trail. The Punchline Trail and Two Dog reroute will enable mountain bikers an opportunity to challenge themselves with the range of features and levels of difficulty to be expected on future trails within the Croy Creek Special Recreation Management Area, an area where a progressive trail system has been designed.
