Grant Description
The purpose of supporting further phylogenetic studies of Arabis macdonaldiana and related species in order to better understand their genetic and geographic limits. This will be a followup on prior molecular phylogenetic work based on a single gene ITS Internal Transcribed Spacer ITS which showed that additional gene sequences are required to fully the understand the relationships within A. macdonaldiana and closely related species. The followup study will use ETS External Transcribed Spacer and low copy nuclear genes including Waxy which have been shown in other groups to provide more resolution.
