Grant Description
In an effort to complement existing USG and international donor efforts to advance the rule of law through legal education and access to justice in Afghanistan, INL/AP seeks applications from qualified organizations to continue an existing program, previously implemented by Global Rights, aimed at supporting four projects to strengthen legal education and access to justice, particularly for women: the Young Lawyers Training Program will provide targeted human and womenуs rights training to fourth year law students at Law and Shariуa faculties in Kabul, Nangarhar, Herat, and Balkh provinces; the Legal Fellows Program will provide year-long paid fellowships for outstanding law school graduates at NGOs and Afghan Government offices dealing with human and womenуs rights; Legal Advice Bureaus will be established at Family Courts in Kabul, Balkh, Herat, and Nangarhar provinces; and a Family Law Clinic to provide practical training opportunities for Law and Shariуa students at six (6) universities throughout Afghanistan.
