Grant Description
The Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs is seeking Statements of Interests (SOIs) from qualified organizations to implement a program to strengthen Afghan civil societyуs efforts to support transparent and accountable subnational government institutions in Afghanistan. The main objective is to improve civil societyуs capacity to encourage transparent and accountable public service delivery at the subnational level, thereby reducing the occurrence of administrative and petty corruption. Accountable public service delivery means that elected officials and civil servants provide the public with the services they are mandated to provide without favoritism, undue delay, or personally profiting п financially or otherwise, and that government employees will be expected to answer for their conduct and performance in providing those services. Transparent public service delivery means that citizens are able to access information on the process by which the government provides public services.
