Grant Description
This announcement solicits applications for the National Hereditary Blood Disorders Program: Hemophilia Services, National Hemophilia Program Coordinating Center (NHPCC). ФThe purpose of the NHPCC funding opportunity is to support a coordinating center to facilitate an integrated and collaborative regional network to promote and improve comprehensive, quality care of individuals with hemophilia and related bleeding or clotting disorders such as thrombophilia. ФThe purpose of this center is to: 1) Coordinate and support quality improvement (QI) activities that will be selected and carried out by the Regional Hemophilia Networks (RHN) to improve the care and improve outcomes for individuals with hemophilia and related bleeding and clotting disorders; 2) Provide a resource for the RHNs in their work that results in uniformity of practice and standards of care, accessibility of care for all patients and their families, reducing the cost of care, and the broad dissemination of bleeding and clotting disorder services and information; 3) play a key role in identifying, prioritizing, and addressing issues of importance regarding increasing access to, and the improvement of, hemophilia and related bleeding and clotting disorder services through outreach to underserved populations in conjunction with key stakeholders; and 4) provide access to training to the RHNs on activities to improve care and services; recruitment and retention of staff, and incorporation of genetics and public health into the hemophilia program.
