Grant Description
The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), Administration for Children and Families (ACF), Office of Family Assistance (OFA) is announcing its intent to competitively award cooperative agreements for demonstration projects that support activities authorized under the Healthy Marriage and Responsible Fatherhood provisions of the Claims Resolution Act of 2010 (Pub. L. 111-291). Cooperative agreements awarded will support prisoner reentry programs that provide innovative community-centered, skill-based pre- and post-release and supportive services to formerly incarcerated fathers. Programs should be designed to address key outcomes related to healthy relationships and marriage, parenting, economic stability and recidivism. These include, but are not limited to, improved family functioning through healthy couple relationship skill building, improved co-parenting, improved child well-being, strengthening positive father-child engagement, increased economic self-sufficiency and stability through employment opportunities and improving economic mobility. ACF is particularly interested in programs that have the demonstrated ability to incorporate a broad array of community-centered strategies to achieve the overarching Responsible Fatherhood legislative goal.
