Only those states previously funded under the Lifespan Respite Care Program in either FY 2009 or FY 2010 are eligible to apply for funding under this Option: Alabama, Arizona, Connecticut, Delaware, District of Columbia, Illinois, Kansas, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New York, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Washington State, and Wisconsin. Individuals, foreign entities, and sole proprietorship organizations are not eligible to compete for, or receive, awards made under this announcement.

Grant Description

The Administration for Community Living (ACL)/U.S. Administration on Aging (AoA) is providing this competitive grants opportunity to eligible state agencies for implementing the requirements of the Lifespan Respite Care Act of 2006 (P.L. 109-442). AoA plans to fund up to approximately five (5) grants to those states originally funded in FYs 2009 and 2010, with a federal funding level of up to $250,000 per award for a project period of seventeen (17) months and twenty-nine (29) days, pending the availability of Federal funds. Eligible state agencies funded under this announcement shall use grant funds for bringing to scale, integrating and ensuring sustainability of respite services across the lifespan with continued and measurable progress towards the realization of fully functioning Lifespan Respite Program. This is a limited grant competition. Awards will only be made to eligible States/state agencies who: Administer the State’s programs under the Older Americans Act of 1965; or Administer title XIX of the social Security Act; or Are designated by the Governor of the State to administer the State’s programs under this title; AND who are An aging and disability resource center working in collaboration with a state respite coalition or organization; AND Are one of the following states : Alabama, Arizona, Connecticut, Delaware, District of Columbia, Illinois, Kansas, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New York, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Washington State, and Wisconsin.
