Grant Description

The purpose of this Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) is to solicit proposals for projects to improve the socio-emotional and behavioral well-being of infants and young children, ages birth to5 years old, and their families, through collaborative service delivery.These projects will build infrastructure capacity between State, local, or tribal child welfare agencies and early childhood systems to ensure that infants and young children who are in or at-risk of entering into foster care have access to comprehensive, high-quality early care and education services.Applicants will be required to demonstrate commitment of the appropriate State, local, or tribal child welfare agency and an appropriate early care and education agency(ies) to undertake the proposed work under this funding opportunity.Projects will promote and utilize multi-disciplinary interventions that build on protective factors and mediate the effects of adverse experiences.These projects may develop new models or replicate existing models of collaborative policies, procedures, and/or practices for identifying and addressing the early educational needs of this population.
